Braille

Recent projects explore symbolic language, in particular, Braille.  It is used as a symbol of cultural, social, and political blindness and in one instance I used it to refer to the blindness of love.

Cottonmouth , 2005
(Braille, pit fired porcelain plugs, stoneware, wood cement. 7' x 4' x 3')
Text in braille on the wall, reads:

An Iraqi speaking to an American journalist said, "You took the cotton from our mouths but you put it in your ears".
